Eastbourne Coach Finishers Ltd were founded in 1957 and were originally located in Eastbourne town centre. Tourism boomed in Eastbourne and along the south coast during the 50’s as people flocked to the beaches in vehicles from all over the country.
This inevitably resulted in car accidents and thus Eastbourne Coach Finishers were born to service the needs of the public which we still do today. Notable vehicles that entered production in 1957 were the original Fiat 500, the Aston Martin DB3 and the Lotus Seven.
1957 also saw Harold Macmillan became British Prime Minister, the Soviet Union launched the first satellite in space – Sputnik and “Bridge over the River Kwai” is released into cinemas.
Eastbourne Coach Finishers Ltd moved to large premises in Birch Close on Lottebridge Drove in 1996 when it was part of the Rosset-Beck Mercedes-Benz group.
In 2008 the business came into private ownership and has grown in workshop size and capability ever since under the stewardship of managing director Russell Turner. These days the business is better known as ECF. The addition of Accident Repair centre was added to the company logo and signage to highlight how diverse the business is with its ability to cater for every need of the driver or fleet owner under one roof.
The business will be an incredible 65 years old in 2022. ECF have built the business around exceptional workmanship, transparency and award winning customer service.
We are extremley pround of our manufacturer approved status with Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Cupra, Kia, Smart and MG. Those manufacturers audit us every year to make sure we adhere to their strict quality standards.
